This online marketplace has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all users about the change. Digital Channels Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services. They have suggested members to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Changes Before the change, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Accounts One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she said. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Marketplace Information The platform boasts over 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: previously, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
